1. What you're buying
USBMind is a setup service. We install open-source AI software (including but not limited to Ollama, llama.cpp, and AnythingLLM) onto a USB drive, either one you provide or one we supply, so that it can run a local AI chat assistant, document search, and translation without an internet connection.
We are not the developer of the underlying AI models or software. We configure and package existing open-source tools. Full credit and license information for each component is listed on ourCredits / Open Source page.
2. What's included
- Installation and configuration of the software stack described above
- One or more pre-loaded AI models, each provided under its own open-source license (see Section 5)
- Basic testing to confirm the drive boots and runs on a standard Windows, macOS, or Linux machine
3. What's not included / not guaranteed
- We do not guarantee compatibility with every possible computer configuration, especially very old hardware or heavily locked-down/managed corporate devices
- We do not provide ongoing technical support beyond initial setup, unless separately agreed
- We do not monitor, log, or have any visibility into how the device is used after it leaves our hands — the device is offline by design, and so are we, once it's in your hands
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use USBMind, or any model you install on it yourself, to:
- Generate, request, or store child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content sexualizing minors
- Generate content intended to facilitate violence, terrorism, or harm to any person or group
- Generate malware, or use the device to develop tools intended to attack, exploit, or compromise other systems
- Infringe on the intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights of any third party
- Violate any applicable law in your jurisdiction
USBMind is a general-purpose offline computing tool. We do not control, and cannot monitor, what a customer chooses to install or run after purchase. Bringing your own model onto the device is done entirely at your own responsibility and risk. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we reasonably believe intends to use the device for a purpose listed above.
5. Third-party models and licenses
Any AI model pre-loaded onto your device is provided under its own license from its original creator (for example, Meta's Llama license, Google's Gemma Terms of Use, or a permissive license such as MIT or Apache 2.0). These licenses are included in a /licenses folder on the device itself. By using the device, you also agree to the terms of any pre-loaded model's individual license.
If Meta's Llama models are included, this notice applies as required by Meta's license: "Built with Llama."
If you install additional models yourself after purchase, you are responsible for complying with that model's own license and usage terms — we have no role in that model's distribution to you.
6. No warranty
The software is provided "as is," consistent with the underlying open-source licenses it's built on. We make no warranty that the device will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what's described in Section 2.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, USBMind and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the device, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or any outcome resulting from a model or output generated using the device.
8. Refunds / returns
[TBD — decide your policy: e.g. "Setup fee is non-refundable once installation begins, but the physical drive may be returned within X days if defective."]
9. Governing law
[TBD — typically this would be Spanish law / your local jurisdiction, but confirm with a lawyer given cross-border sales.]
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The version in effect at the time of your order applies to that order.
Questions about these terms can be sent to [SUPPORT EMAIL].
